Solitary bees pollinate our fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, but they are experiencing population declines due to habitat loss. Bee hotels create safe habitats in your yard for solitary bees to lay eggs and hatch new bees. Don't get discouraged if your bee hotel seems empty - look for plugged holes in the fall to see evidence that your hotel has eggs that will hatch in the spring.
